New Manchester City signing Kolo Toure believes he can win the Premier League after moving to Eastlands.
The Ivory Coast star left Arsenal on Wednesday evening in a deal reported to be worth in the region of £15million as he signed a four-year deal.
Toure joins Gareth Barry, Stuart Taylor, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and fellow ex-Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor in moving to big-spending City this summer.
And after joining manager Mark Hughes' ambitious project, the 28-year-old has set his sights on top-flight glory.
When asked if City could win the Premier League, Toure told a press conference broadcast live on Sky Sports News: "Yes, I believe that.
"That is why I am here. The project is big. There are some great players here and we want to be near the top. It is going to be difficult and we will need to work at it.
"They have a really great project and I want to do something. The future is big and it is a big challenge for me."
He added: "The target is to be as far as we can. Last season we were in the middle of the table. If we can make the top six or four that would be fantastic. We need to work for it.
"The team want to progress and everything the club do is to make sure the club plays at the top of the league. That is a really good objective."
Toure also revealed that he has joined City because the club made him feel wanted.
"When you love a women and she gives you back the love, you are really happy," he said. "That is what City have done and I want to give the love back."
