Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has reassured Ipswich and Leicester that Jack Colback and Martyn Waghorn will remain on loan until the end of the season.
The Black Cats currently have a number of midfielders out, with Steed Malbranque and Andy Reid injured, while Lee Cattermole and David Meyler are both suspended.
But Bruce believes midfielder Colback is best to remain at Ipswich and develop with the Championship side, as is frontman Waghorn at Leicester.
Speaking about the pair, who are both 20, Bruce told Sunderland's official website: "The last thing I want to do is call them back to cover for a week or two weeks.
"We've seen the benefit of Jordan Henderson going out on loan last season and I think that will benefit them too."
Colback has made 15 starts in all competitions for former Sunderland boss Roy Keane at Portman Road, scoring four goals, while Waghorn has netted six times in 26 Championship appearances for the Foxes.
