Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has been rewarded with a new 12-month contract at White Hart Lane.
Cudicini has been sidelined since November after requiring surgery on wrist and pelvic injuries sustained in a horrific motorcycle accident.
He is on the road towards a first-team comeback and has now been handed a new deal by Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
The 36-year-old will be working on his fitness over the summer and the UEFA Champions League qualifiers are happy with the keeper's progress.
Head of medical services Wayne Diesel told the club's official website: "We are delighted at how well Carlo has progressed.
"He has shown a great deal of self discipline and motivation to come back from this."
Cudicini joined Spurs from London rivals Chelsea in January 2009 and he has made a total of 12 appearances for the club.
The Italian had a run in the team during the early weeks of the season due to an injury to Heurelho Gomes and will be able to lend his experience to Spurs' debut campaign in the Champions League next term.
