Marseille captain Benoit Cheyrou has committed his future to the Ligue 1 champions following a successful campaign under manager Didier Deschamps.
Cheyrou was an influential figure in the club's title-winning campaign. The midfielder played 32 games scoring five goals to help Marseille claim their first title since the 1991-92 season.
The 29-year-old had been linked with a move to the Premier League and La Liga with reported interest from Sunderland and Sevilla in the influential midfielder.
The younger brother of former Liverpool midfielder Bruno told Canal Plus: "Yes, I am staying. We had talked about a move away at the end of the season and the press talked up potential transfer targets," he said.
"I never said that I wanted to leave this club. I love this club and I'm looking forward to next season."
Cheyrou started his professional career at Lille and also played for Auxerre before joining Marseille in the summer of 2007.
