City ace admits World Cup jetlag

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez admits he is struggling for motivation ahead of the new season. The 26-year-old forward had a disappointing World Cup campaign with Argentina as Diego Maradona's men crashed out in the quarter-finals. Tevez scored 23 Premier League goals for City last term and fired them to a fifth-placed finish, as Roberto Mancini's men narrowly missed out on a place in the UEFA Champions League. However, after his summer exertions the Argentine attacker is lacking motivation and still feels bitter about the way the national team was treated by the Argentine FA. "We returned to Argentina the morning after we lost against Germany," he said. "But we flew in economy instead of business. The AFA directors put us at the bottom of the plane, as we were chickens, all together. "The players tried their best and did not deserve such disrespect because we still played some good games and entertained in South Africa. "I'm trying to motivate myself, because the World Cup was my goal. For the first time in my life, I'm having problems to find something that motivates me." Tevez made the switch to Eastlands last summer after two years with rivals Manchester United, and he is still happy he made the move. He added: "I enjoyed so much my two years in Manchester United, but to leave them was the best choice. My era there was finished. "City is a smaller team than United, but believe me, it is growing really fast. We played well last season, despite not qualifying for the Champions League."
