Teenager agrees season-long move to Selhurst Park

Teenage Tottenham striker Jon Obika has joined Championship club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan while Ipswich's Pablo Counago has also made a temporary move to Selhurst Park. The 19-year-old follows former Spurs midfielder Edgar Davids in signing a deal with The Eagles on Friday after the ex-Holland international came out of retirement to agree a pay-as-you-play deal. Obika spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall and helped the club to promotion to the Championship as he built first-team experience in the Football League. The forward has also had a temporary stay at Yeovil Town, where he made 35 appearances and scored 11 goals. Obika has made two first-team appearances for Tottenham, with the outings coming during Spurs' 2008/09 Uefa Cup campaign. Palace have also signed Ipswich striker Counago, 31, on a season-long loan deal, but he will not be available to face his former club on Saturday.
