West Brom's Steven Reid is poised to return to training next week after his knee injury turned out to be less serious than initially feared.
The versatile 29-year-old suffered the problem in the New Year's Day clash with Manchester United and it was thought he could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
However, he is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could soon be available for selection again.
Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo said: "We expect Reid to be back training next week, hopefully.
"Things are quite positive with him. The injury wasn't as bad as anticipated and he has recovered really well.
"We'll have to see how he gets on a daily basis."
Olsson in contention
Central defender Jonas Olsson is set to be available for Sunday's trip to Blackburn after playing 65 minutes of a friendly match with Walsall.
Olsson has been sidelined with an Achilles problem and was then sent off in his comeback match against Reading in the FA Cup.
Di Matteo said: "If he suffers no reaction, Jonas will be in contention for Sunday.
"We'll see how he feels and then monitor him for the rest of the week. Then we'll make a decision on Saturday."
Midfield duo Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans have shaken off sore calf muscles suffered during last weekend's win over Blackpool.
