Italy international Davide Santon has arrived in England to finalise a move to Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old burst into the Inter first team back in 2008 and was handed his Italian debut just 12 months later.
But his progress has faltered in recent months and he finished last season on loan at Cesena.
Now Newcastle are set to finalise a deal for Santon, who arrived in England on Tuesday to undergo a medical.
Newcastle have been looking for a new left-back following Jose Enrique's move to Liverpool.
Santon, who is right-footed, can play on either side of the pitch, both in midfield and defence.
