Harry - Gomes will get games

Harry Redknapp changed his mind about playing Heurelho Gomes against PAOK but says he will face Stoke in the Carling Cup.

Friedel remains Spurs' first choice in the Premier League

Harry Redknapp insists Brad Friedel remains his first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League and says Heurelho Gomes could get his chance in Tottenham Hotspur's Carling Cup tie against Stoke City. Gomes started Spurs' first game of the season against Hearts in the Europa League, but last season's No.1 has been overlooked in favour of summer signing Friedel in domestic action. The Brazilian is unhappy at the situation, but had been expected to be given an opportunity in the opening Europa League group game against PAOK Salonika on Thursday. However, Redknapp opted for Carlo Cudicini, who has been on the bench in the Premier League, and the Italian impressed in the 0-0 draw in Greece. Redknapp has confirmed Friedel will be back in goal for Sunday's game against Liverpool after admitting he changed his mind about playing Gomes against PAOK. "Yes, Carlo played well, but Brad Friedel has been fantastic," said Redknapp. "At the moment, in the Premier League, Brad has the jersey. "I think he's been magnificent. I'm lucky. We've got three top goalkeepers here." Regarding Gomes, the Spurs boss added: "I just changed my mind. I thought it would be better for Carlo tonight. "Gomes will get games. I will play him at Stoke in the Carling Cup next Tuesday."
