Defender delighted as Gunners enter season-defining week

Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny believes their last-gasp winner at Sunderland will boost the side ahead of their clash with AC Milan. The Gunners travel to the San Siro on Wednesday to face the Italian giants in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. James McClean gave Sunderland the advantage in Saturday's Premier League encounter before Aaron Ramsey levelled the scores for the visitors at the Stadium of Light, setting the stage for Thierry Henry to net a late winner. The Frenchman sealed three points for the Gunners in the closing minutes and Koscielny admits Henry's contribution was greatly received in the dressing room as the club enter a season-defining week.

Important

"It was very important. We lost three games, then beat Blackburn at home and we came here to win," he told the club's official website. "We played very well. We conceded a strange goal but that's life and we came back and won. That's good for the team and it's better for the games ahead against Milan and Sunderland in the FA Cup. "Everyone is very happy for Thierry, because he's a good player. The best players can change a game." Following a midweek trip to Italy, Arsenal travel north once again as they face Sunderland away from home for the second time in as many weeks looking to book a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
