Martinez hoping Diame and Rodallega will be ready to face Stoke

Wigan are sweating on the fitness of Mohamed Diame and Hugo Rodallega ahead of their home date with Stoke on Saturday. The Latics have received positive news regarding an injury picked up by Victor Moses at Liverpool last time out and are hoping for more of the same on Diame and Rodallega. The pair are considered to be 'touch and go' for the Potters clash as they nurse groin and knee complaints respectively. Roberto Martinez is hoping both will be ready to re-join Wigan's Premier League survival bid, but appreciates that it is too early to rule them in or out at this stage. "Momo suffered a little tear to his groin in training last Thursday, but we're hoping that it's not too serious," Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.

Treatments

"He is a very fit boy and would probably heal from that sort of injury quicker than any other player. "But I would say it will be difficult for Hugo to be fit for the game against Stoke. "We have tried a few different treatments with the medical people to try to bring forward his recovery time. "But we have to be sure we are not pushing him too much and risking being without him for a much longer period of time."
