Alexander Doni wants to stay at Liverpool and believes he remains in the plans of manager Kenny Dalglish.
The Brazil international goalkeeper moved to England from Roma last July and signed a two-year contract at Anfield.
But it has been speculated Doni would want to leave this summer having played just three matches, including his infamous red card in the dramatic 3-2 win at Blackburn in April.
The 32-year-old has had to settle for a role as back-up to Dalglish's undisputed No.1, Jose Reina, but Doni is not frustrated enough at his fringe role to want to leave Liverpool.
He is quoted as saying in the
Daily Mirror: "I believe I am in the plans for next season. I want to play matches and do well for the club."
It has been a strange season for Liverpool after winning the Carling Cup but suffering defeat by Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Measure of success
On Sunday, Dalglish takes his team to Swansea hoping for at best a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League, which would include overtaking derby rivals Everton.
But Liverpool's manager does not believe finishing as the top team on Merseyside should be the primary motivation for the trip to the Liberty Stadium.
"We've got a desire to go there and win and, as we've said before, we want to do as well as we possibly can in every game we play," said the Scot.
"We're not happy finishing below anybody in the table. We want to be finishing above everybody.
"Whoever is in our road, it is up to us to be better than they are and get there when we can - but it's not been too bad (a season) for us.
"To win a trophy (Carling Cup) after six years was a good result for us, to get to the FA Cup final was a good result, and to get into the Europa League is also a measure of success."
