Arsenal manager insists defender remains committed as ever

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed suggestions that defender Bacary Sagna will leave the club soon. The France international right-back said in an interview last week that he was unhappy with the club's decision to sell Alex Song to Barcelona in the summer. Sagna claimed that Song's departure from the Emirates is "a huge loss" for the Gunners, admitting that he did not "understand" the club's decision. This sparked rumours that the 29-year-old wants to leave Arsenal, but Wenger has now quashed them.

Full commitment

"Bacary loves the club and I think he will stay here," he said. "His interview doesn't reflect the love he has for this club. "He has always given full commitment." Sagna's current contract with Arsenal runs out in 2014. He is sidelined at the moment with a broken leg but is expected to return to action in three weeks.
