The European champions travelled to Japan full of confidence after Saturday's 3-1 win at Sunderland and they will face Mexican side Monterrey in Thursday's semi-final.
Oscar lifted the trophy two years ago with former club Internacional and he says that winning the competition could give the Blues' season a huge lift.
"If we win, it is going to give us so much more confidence and strength for the rest of the season. I do hope we are able to make it to the final and face Corinthians. That would be great," said Oscar.
"This is a very important competition for all the teams in the world now. It has always been big in South America, even in the days when it was the Intercontinental Cup."
He also spoke of how much the competition means to the South American teams competing, saying: "In Brazil, it has always been seen as the one opportunity for our clubs to play against the big European teams and show their football to the world.
"When it became the Club World Cup, I think the world outside Europe started to take it seriously because it was the only way they could test themselves against the best.
"The South American teams have always taken this competition seriously, but the European teams have won the last five times and this is a trend we hope to continue.
"Corinthians are very strong and their biggest characteristic is that they play as a team. I know Paulinho best because we have been together with the national team for so many years. He has been playing very well and I expect him to be one of the stars of the competition."
