Leighton Baines urges Everton to start winning ugly in season run-in

Leighton Baines says Everton need to start winning ugly if they want to achieve their targets this season.

Cup frustration

The FA Cup draw with Oldham was a particular source of frustration for Baines, after the League One strugglers forced a last-gasp equaliser from a corner. Should Everton win the replay at Goodison Park on Tuesday, a quart-final tie with Wigan Athletic awaits. Baines added: "It was a bit of a shock because the goal came so late. We were disappointed because we want to go through but we have got the replay at Goodison Park and so we will fancy our chances. "We must now pick ourselves up and go again. We can't really ask for much more than a home tie with a side who play a couple of leagues below you. "If we lose then we only have ourselves to blame. Our destiny is in our own hands. "We have got to look forward now. We would have liked more from the last two games but we still believe we can achieve something. The games coming up are very winnable."
