The Senegalese international has long been linked with a move to England and he has admitted his desire to move across the Channel.
Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff and Southampton are amongst the clubs reported to have checked on him in recent months.
But Anderlecht admit that they are unlikely to do a deal early in the New Year as they have told him he can leave in the summer.
"The chances he stays at Anderlecht during the winter break are 75 per cent",
Herman Van Holsbeeck, managing of director of Anderlecht, told Belgian weekly Sport/Foot Magazine.
"We have promised him a transfer at the end of the season, like we did with Dieumerci Mbokani and Lucas Biglia.
"I'm reading everywhere he'll be leaving in January, but I'm not sure about that. Finding a replacement during the season is difficult.
"Only when a spectacular offer comes in, we will allow him to leave."
Last summer Kouyate gained a Belgian passport, meaning he will no longer need a work permit to finalise a move to England.
