Traore joined the Merseyside club on loan from Monaco during the January transfer window.
And speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Martinez believes that the player is coming along nicely after suffering a hamstring injury.
Martinez said: "Lacina is progressing really well. We need to assess whether it is wise or not to give him playing time over the next two or three weeks.
"He's fully fit from a medical point of view. The last thing we want is for him to stretch to get the physicality of the Premier League and suffer. He's got an incredible, hungry approach towards everything he does.
"When you see him straight away it gives you a clear idea of what he can bring to the team. He is stronger than I thought and he's got an incredible appetite for his debut at Everton.
"That impresses me. After he watched the last home game against Aston Villa, you could see he was desperate to be fit and help the team."
"His co-ordination for such a tall guy is quite rare. The combination play in the final third is as good as it gets and he's got a good goalscoring touch. He's got the physical presence to be a target man in open play as well."
