Marouane Chamakh claims to have snubbed 'many other offers' from Premier League clubs to remain at Crystal Palace.
The Morocco international striker saw a previous one-year deal at Selhurst Park expire at the end of last season.
Dropping into the free agent pool sparked a clamour for his services, with a number of sides putting terms to the former Arsenal frontman.
Chamakh has, however, opted to commit his future to Palace for another two years after enjoying a productive 2013/14 campaign.
I had many other offers, including three or four from other teams in England, but I really wanted to stay with Crystal Palace.
The 30-year-old rediscovered his best form under the guidance of Ian Holloway and Tony Pulis, scoring six times in all competitions, and claims it was an easy choice to extend his stay at a club where he is valued and appreciated.
Chamakh told Palace’s official website: "I had many other offers, including three or four from other teams in England, but I really wanted to stay with Crystal Palace.
"I said before, my first choice was always to stay here, that's why I was waiting to sign for the club.
"I could have signed for another team months ago, but I did not want that because I'm really happy here.
"I really like the atmosphere around the place and I enjoy working with the players.
"I enjoyed myself more last season than I have for a long time because I feel good around the players and the new staff. I am so happy to continue being a part of that group. I really wanted that.
"We had a good season last year and we will do everything we can to do the same again this season for everybody - for us and for the fans."
