Ashley Williams is delighted to see Wilfried Bony still at Swansea City and hopes the transfer window will close without any further movement.

Bony, the club’s top scorer from 2013/14, has generated plenty of speculation throughout the summer.

Clubs across Europe are said to have shot admiring glances in the direction of the Ivory Coast international, who netted 25 times in all competitions last season.

I think we have got a lot of talent at the moment, with plenty of depth on the bench as well.

Swansea have maintained throughout that Bony is not for sale, and they are not about to relax that stance.

Club captain Williams hopes that will be enough to keep interested parties at arm’s length, with Swansea now boasting an enviable array of attacking talent following the arrivals of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis.

He said after Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Burnley: “It’s not for me to say who comes in, but I don’t want to lose anyone.

“I think we have got a lot of talent at the moment, with plenty of depth on the bench as well.

“You can see how important Bony is to our team. He is looking better than ever and he’s genuinely hungry for goals.

“We are really glad to have him, especially after all the speculation during pre-season.

“He is part of a really tight unit, with good personalities on and off the field.

“I think we have brought in quality and I like the way it looks.”
