Sheffield Wednesday have signed Norwich City defender Michael Turner on loan until the end of the season.

Turner is approaching 400 league appearances in his career and will bring plenty of experience to the Wednesday back-four.

The 31-year-old made 24 appearances for the Canaries last season before joining Fulham on loan in March, where he played a further nine times.

But he has not featured under Alex Neil so far this season and will instead head to the Sky Bet Championship side, who have five points from their first four league games in 2015-16.

Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal said: "Turner is here because he can give energy, he has a strong personality, he likes to win and has experience.

"We need these types of players here and he will help us this season. He knows the Championship and he is very welcome here.
