Bernabeu boss backed for Stamford homecoming amid return talk

Almost half of skysports.com readers believe Jose Mourinho will be managing Chelsea again next season. The Real Madrid boss announced his intent to return to English football in the future during an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week. Mourinho's position at the Bernabeu has become tentative, with Madrid third in the Primera Liga, 18 points adrift of leaders Barcelona. Meanwhile, Rafael Benitez is struggling to win over the Blues faithful in his inconsistent interim reign at Stamford Bridge, prompting calls for the return of 'The Special One' this summer. And in a Skysports.com readers' poll, 44 per cent of the votes identified Chelsea as the club most likely to be managed by Mourinho next season, with his current employers receiving just 2 per cent. Surprisingly, Manchester United received 22 per cent of the votes, but with Sir Alex Ferguson giving no indication that he intends to stand down from his job, Mourinho to be at Old Trafford next season is unlikely. Manchester City took in 16 per cent while Arsenal received just a 5 per cent share and the Any Other Club option completed the survey with 11 per cent. Bookmaker Sky Bet are running a market on the Portuguese's next English club - be it next season or otherwise - with Manchester United far and away the most-backed club so far. United are currently rated 2/1 to be his next English club while Chelsea are available at the same price, but it's Manchester City (5/4) who front Sky Bet's odds, considering Roberto Mancini's future is likely to be on the line if he fails to land the club a major trophy this term.
