"I think Arsenal need to break the bank and get Wayne Rooney or someone who plays for a club; there is talk of Nani (pictured) but while he is a good player he doesn't play regularly for Man United so I don't see how that is a step up and Arsenal shouldn't be going for second pickings. They need to buy big this season because, for me, the Premier League this year will be the most open is has been for a long time and if Arsenal can get three or four players I think they've got a chance."
Scott Quinnell on the Lions side to face Australia in the first Test
"It is a very competitive side; Jonathan Davies has been outstanding on this Tour and will fit in nicely at 12 with Brian O'Driscoll at 13 and those two will probably mix and match defensively, while Alex Corbisiero will make sure that the Lions are nice and tight at loosehead and we can grind the Australians down. Saturday's referee, Chris Pollock, is renowned for letting the contact go, too, so Tom Croft and Jamie Heaslip can go rampaging around and hopefully knock gold jerseys over everywhere!"
Niall Quinn on the managerial structure at Sunderland
"There is a new regime in there now and I really hope it works, but everyone is waiting to see how it pans out. Paolo Di Canio seems to be a very good coach and organiser, but maybe he needs someone to help him out with all the other stuff and the fact he knows Roberto De Fanti [the new Dircetor of Football] means it may work. However, we have seen the opposite at Newcastle so you never know how things will go until people work together."
