Michael Carrick has been ruled out of Manchester United's Champions League game against Wolfsburg and Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera are doubts.
Manager Louis van Gaal confirmed Carrick will miss the game, saying: "[He] shall not play tomorrow."
Regarding Herrara and Valencia, who, like Carrick, sat out Tuesday morning's training session at Carrington, van Gaal said: "They have minor injuries and I don't want to take any risks. We will have to wait and see.
"I don't want to take risks like we have done with Wayne Rooney because we have to play a full season and it's better to withdraw players for one match than for them to play and get injured."
Marcus Rojo, who has sat out the last two games with a hamstring problem, was also missing from the session.
Carrick and Valencia started Saturday's 3-0 Premier League home win over Sunderland, while Herrera was an unused substitute.
Youngsters Josh Harrop, Donald Love and James Weir were drafted in for Tuesday training because of the injuries.
Defender Paddy McNair also took part after he recovered from the injury that sidelined him for the last two games.
After losing against PSV Eindhoven in their first Group B match earlier this month, Van Gaal will be desperate to record his first Champions League win with United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
