Manchester United and the FA have declined to comment on reports Alexis Sanchez missed a drugs test as he completed his move to Old Trafford on January 22.

Arsene Wenger confirmed Sanchez missed the test after anti-doping authorities were unable to locate the player on the day he finalised his transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United.

Wenger admitted responsibility for Sanchez's absence rested with Arsenal.

Sky Sports News has also contacted UK Anti-Doping for comment and is awaiting a response.

Sanchez could make his Manchester United debut on Friday after Jose Mourinho confirmed the 29-year-old is in his squad to face Yeovil in their FA Cup fourth-round tie.

Mourinho, who also signed a contract extension until at least 2020, defended the deal to sign Sanchez as a fair one in the current market despite the player's high wages, with Sanchez understood to be earning more than £350,000 per week.
