David de Gea said he admired Tom Moores' spectacular catch for Nottinghamshire, but says not to expect him donning wicketkeeper gloves anytime soon.

De Gea has enjoyed another great season and was named Manchester United's Player of the Year for a record fourth time on Tuesday night.

A tweet from the County Championship account highlighted the similarity between a pair of great catches from Moores and one of De Gea's trademark diving saves.

De Gea not only spotted the tweet but retweeted it to his 11m followers - with the addition of some clapping hands to applaud Moores' athleticism.

"I enjoy watching and that was a great example, the catch you are talking about from the other day," De Gea told Sky Sports.
