The £19 million Dutchman took just seven minutes to find the target, latching on to a deft Dwight Yorke flick before confidently slotting the ball home.
Former PSV Eindhoven ace van Nistelrooy grabbed his second on 36 minutes, showing fine composure to lob the Malaysians` keeper.
England ace David Beckham was also in commanding form, and he found the target on 29 minutes as United went in 3-0 up at the interval.
Andy Cole was one of five players introduced at the interval, and he took less than a minute to find the net, collecting a pass from fellow substitute Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before rounding the keeper and rolling home.
Luke Chadwick was introduced in the second-half and he scored on 71 minutes before Cole grabbed his second late on.
Speaking after the game, two-goal Van Nistelrooy said: "All the goals that were scored came from good play, good passes, and it was nice to score."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson felt it was a good effort from his team, commenting: "I was very pleased, they worked hard, the performance was good, they had a good workout and the fans saw six goals and that was pleasing."
