Lupatelli arrived at the newly-promoted side in the summer with many predicting that he would be the busiest goalkeeper in the league.
However, Chievo - and Lupatelli - have flourished and reports that he will return to Roma have been laughed off by the custodian.
"After a season like this I would be hard pressed to choose a team where I would sit on the bench," said Lupatelli.
"I want to play and I believe I have demonstrated my merits."
Lupatelli is reportedly being watched by English champions Manchester United, but the keeper admits that he has a long way to go to be mentioned in the same breath as current Old Trafford incumbent Fabien Barthez.
"Barthez is a huge name," admits Lupatelli. "And I am only just starting down the roadǪ"
