The tall centre back initially joined the Welsh club for a month, but Sir Alex Ferguson has granted permission for the deal to be extended.
"It's excellent news that I've had permission to stay at Swansea," the 20-year-old told Swansea's official website.
"I'm enjoying being here and playing regularly in the first team and that's helping me develop far better than playing for United reserves would.
"I know that United will be watching me while I'm here so, hopefully, if I'm doing well, then I might have more of a chance of making the first team when I get back there."
However, there was some bad news for Swans director of football Brian Flynn (pictured) when he learned that midfielder Matt Murphy is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage.
The player is out of contract in the summer but faces an operation in the New Year.
In other news, David Smith has had his contract paid up by The Swans, just six months after his move from Grimsby.
The 34-year-old full back has fallen down the pecking order of late, and has reluctantly decided to sever his ties with the Welsh club.
