Reports have persistently linked Manchester United superstar Giggs with a move to Italy, despite the Welsh flyer insisting he is happy at Old Trafford.
Recoba has been asked to play wide on the left, Giggs` position, but the Uruguayan says the pair cannot be compared.
He said: "I don't believe I am similar to Giggs, we have different characteristics.
"He`s able to overcome his marker and he`s quick, but I can play as a second forward and he doesn't."
Recoba has established a reputation as a set-piece specialist, and has been compared with Giggs` United team-mate David Beckham.
It would seem the Uruguayan rates the England captain highly, as he said: "Beckham is a really big player.
"He has a great shot, but I also have quite a good one."
In an extensive interview, Recoba has claimed he does not mind being asked to play in positions that are unaccustomed to him.
He added: "I just like playing. In today`s football, there is little else to say.
"You can`t ask Vieri to be a defender or Toldo a striker, but if you ask me to play on the left or on the three-quarter line, I do. That's because I feel good and when I enter the pitch I am sure of what I can do.
"If I try a shot and fail, I`m not worried because the important thing is trying.
"I have to say that I still feel like I am still under examination. It`s right that there are examinations, because when you`re a big player with a big salary, you`ve still got to play well.
"We have a debt to our supporters."
In other news, reports in the Greek press are suggesting Inter are set to strike a deal to bring Panathinaikos midfielder Giorgias Karagounis to the Giuseppe Meazza in the summer.
The Greek international, who is a fan of Italian football, is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a move to Serie A for some time.
He was in Milan recently, although the player claimed he was shopping, which has fuelled speculation that a pre-contract is set to be struck.
There are a host of teams keen on the 26-year-old, with Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Barcelona all credited with interest.
