Advocaat fumes at Fergie

HOLLAND coach Dick Advocaat has revealed he will ignore any future requests from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson regarding Ruud van Nistelrooy's international participation.

Ferguson had asked Advocaat not to utilise prolific striker van Nistelrooy for more than 45 minutes during Wednesday's friendly against Argentina.

Advocaat acceded to Ferguson's demands as The Red Devils chief wanted van Nistelrooy fresh for Saturday's crunch FA Cup encounter against Arsenal.

But Advocaat was irritated to witness van Nistelrooy's Old Trafford team-mate, Juan Sebastian Veron, figure for more than an hour for Argentina.

That has prompted Advocaat to change his policy and he is adamant he will no longer put Ferguson's interests before those of Holland.

"I was curious before the match to see whether Veron would also only play for one half and he actually played for a lot longer," lamented Advocaat.

"This isn't working. Veron also plays for Manchester (United) and is just as busy as van Nistelrooy.

"For the moment, I won't listen to Ferguson anymore. If he plays well next time, I will not change him."
