The young French international has been openly admired by both Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, but has stayed loyal to Auxerre.
A full international, Mexes has become one of the most highly rated talents in Le Championnat, and is grateful for the loyalty his club and its coach Guy Roux have shown to him.
"I think Guy Roux wants to keep the current crop of players until we win something," insisted Mexes.
"That is also our goal. And we want to leave Auxerre fans with the best possible impression of us.
"About my personal future - if Auxerre want to sell me they will sell me - if they don't I will stay.
"It is up to the club to decide.
"I have a contract and I have to fulfil it. I adapt and I don't ask for anything.
"It will be up to us to replace the players that leave in the summer.
"I have not had any contact from other clubs. I have never had a direct proposal.
"The club has probably received some but that doesn't matter to me.
"My aim is to win the league."
