Reports emanating from Turkey on Tuesday had suggested that the Real supremo confirmed a bid from the Old Trafford outfit.
"There are some offers for Nihat," Astiazaran was quoted as saying.
"But Manchester United's offer is the most serious.
"If Nihat want to play for Manchester United, this transfer can become fact."
However, the Basque president has now spoken out claiming the words attributed to him were entirely fictitious.
"Everything is false, Nihat will continue with Real next season," Astiazaran blasted.
"It's not true that I have spoken about Nihat to any form of media, nor to any club.
"At the moment we are planning our squad thinking of the future, as the renewal of (Oscar) De Paula's contract demonstrates.
"We must concentrate always on real suppositions and not hypothesis".
Although Astiazaran's declarations seem to put an end to speculation that United have made an offer to the Primera outfit, there is little doubt that the Premiership side have the skilful Turk within their sights.
Sir Alex Ferguson has sent his brother to watch the hit-man in action this season, and the key to any move for the 23-year-old could be Sociedad's eventual league finish.
The Basques currently sit second in La Liga, but if they were to slip out of Champions League contention it would pave the way for the former Besiktas star to leave the Anoeta in the summer.
