The Argentinian midfielder, who came on as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Charlton Athletic, saw Arsenal's challenge falter with a home defeat to Leeds United, and set out for a night of celebration with team-mate Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"When Arsenal played Leeds, I wanted my family to leave me alone with the television set," confessed the former Lazio star.
"I knew I was going to be very nervous.
"After the failure in the World Cup, this title is my small revenge.
"Already, I know that this Premiership title does not have the same dimension as winning a World Cup, but I am truly happy.
"After Japan, when many things were said about me, I need happiness like this," 'Brujita' told the press in his homeland.
"Barely had Arsenal lost when Ruud (van Nistelrooy) passed by my house. I got in his car and travelled to the centre of Manchester, and we are having dinner at a restaurant.
"Despite the knee injury impeding me from playing, I feel very champion.
"I always had faith in the team, even when Arsenal led us by nine points."
