The Chelsea striker had been one of the chief candidates to arrive in Seville, as Betis look to capture a high-profile forward ahead of next season's campaign.
It has been suggested that Holland hit-man Hasselbaink was offered to the Andalucian outfit, with a move for their first target, Real Madrid's Tote, on the brink of collapse.
"We seek a forward, a scorer," confirmed Lopera. "But our objective is another player (not Hasselbaink).
"I have been offered more than 40 forwards in the last month, but not any player worthy of Betis."
Lopera also insisted there were no fresh developments regarding Manchester United's interest in signing Joaquin.
"I do not know anything new from the English executives," he added. "Only what appears in some newspapers."
The Verdiblancos have completed the signing of Uruguayan defender Daniel Alejandro Lembo.
A press conference will officially announce the arrival of the 25-year-old South American, who is leaving Nacional in his homeland.
Lembo possesses an Italian passport and should prove to be a quality acquisition for Betis.
