Trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Portugal, United desperately need to pull off a result and progress in the competition.
Sir Alex Ferguson's defence has been a major talking point as his side have slumped of let and allowed Arsenal to build up a gap at the top of the Premiership.
The Frenchman has been missed since picking up an ankle injury at Leeds but he is confident of being back in action to face Porto.
"It is looking good," Silvestre told MUTV. "I am looking forward to training again at the end of the week.
"I should be fit for Porto, maybe even before, but, for Porto, I think I will definitely be in the squad."
The 26-year-old has noticed that United have been struggling to defend, especially from crosses - and that has cost them valuable points in the championship race.
Despite falling behind Arsenal - Silvestre says that they will never give up and there could yet still be a twist in the race for the title.
"It's not the best situation. We're losing games and we think the defence is not dealing well with crosses.
"There are some adjustments that we have to make but I'm confident we can do that in the remaining games this season.
"At the back we're suffering because we haven't been defending the way we did last year. I think it is the whole team that is not defending as well as before.
"We're going to fight until the end," he added in regard to the title race. "Even if we are nine points behind. It's a hard task but we will stay focused on the league.
"They (Arsenal) will have learned from last season. They are not going to drop points as easily.
"We still have to go to Highbury and if we win there and they lose another game, it makes it an interesting finish."
