The champions face Paraguay on March 31 and coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has named a 22-man party.
Ronaldo has been named, despite the fact he is currently sidelined with a thigh problem.
"We wait to see if we are able to count on the Ronaldo", said Parreira - who confirmed Rivaldo's exclusion.
Rivaldo is currently without a club after leaving Cruzeiro following the sacking of Vanderley Luxemburgo and that has cost him his place in the side.
"I cannot call-up a player who is not playing," added Parreira.
"It does not matter who the player is."
Parreira revealed that he was happy to use Milan star Kaka as his replacement.
"Kaka replaces accurately what Rivaldo was in the team. We lose with experience, but we earn it back in youth," he added.
Arsenal's Gilberto Silva and Kleberson of Manchester United were included, but Middlesbrough's Juninho - who was named in the last game - was left out, along with The Gunners' Edu.
Squad in full: Dida (Milan), Marcos (Palmeiras), Cafu (Milan), Belletti (Villarreal), Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid), Junior (Siena), Lucio (Bayer Leverkusen), Roque Junior (Siena), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen), Edmilson (Lyon), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal), Kleberson (Manchester United), Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich), Juninho Pernambucano (Lyon), Kaka (Milan), Renato (Santos), Julio Baptista (Sevilla), Alex (Cruzeiro), Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Luis Fabiano (Sao Paulo), Adriano (Internazionale), Ronaldinho (Barcelona)
