United keeper still in limbo

Racing Santander goalkeeper Ricardo admits he is still in the dark over where he will be playing next season.

The 32-year-old custodian is on loan at El Sardinero from Manchester United for the season and is enjoying an excellent campaign back in La Primera.

Ricardo has been one of Racing's most consistent performers and the Cantabrians are believed to be keen to retain his services.

The former Real Valladolid star insists he will not be focusing on his future until the end of the term, but admitted he hopes his good form will earn him a recall to the Spain squad for this summer's Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.

"I am not thinking about my future now but preparing as well as possible for our next match against Sevilla which will be a hard game," he declared.

"One shouldn't make evaluations about the whole season yet, you have to think from game to game and draw conclusions at the end of the year."

Speaking about a possible international recall, he continued: "The truth is I would be the happiest man in the world if I get in the squad.

"But if it happens it happens, I won't be obsessing over it."
