Marco Aurelio can consider himself a lucky man - and possibly a rich one!
Marco Aurelio can consider himself a lucky man after getting hold of a piece of footballing memorabilia on Tuesday night.
The Fenerbahce man managed to secure Wayne Rooney's shirt after the Manchester United striker marked his Old Trafford debut with a sensational hat-trick in the 6-2 win for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
Ryan Giggs bought a signed shirt that Rooney wore in Euro 2004 for £7,500 at a recent charity event for Unicef and it is clear that the one handed to Aurelio will be worth substantially more to football collectors.
Indeed, Turkish sources claim the current valuation is around £90,000, although Aurelio is remaining tight-lipped over whether he wants to sell the souvenir.
"When I was walking off, I saw Wayne Rooney in front of me," he told Hurriyet.
"I said to him: 'May we exchange our shirts?'
"He gave his shirt to me and I gave him mine.
"But I could not know that a shirt could cause such a fuss."
