Murphy: No fear of United

Danny Murphy says he has no fear about taking on Manchester United.

Danny Murphy says he has no fear about taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford after three times scoring the winning goal for Liverpool at the venue.

The Charlton Athletic midfielder will look to continue his impressive record against The Red Devils after manager Alan Curbishley admitted he is likely to start with the ex-Crewe man.

"It's my first time there with Charlton," he told Sky Sports News.

"I've heard something about Charlton's statistics that United are the one team Charlton haven't beaten in The Premiership. That's a little bit worrying but I'll be looking forward to it, going there with Charlton.

"I always look forward to going there. I don't go there with fear. I don't go to any stadium with fear.

"I don't think you should; as a team or an individual.

"If you do that there's usually only one outcome and that's a defeat."

Charlton are in upbeat mood after an improvement in their recent form and Murphy is keen to start the weekend brightly in the lunchtime Prem Plus offering on Saturday.

"We'll go there with two good results behind us," he stated.

"Confidence is good within the side but we're well aware of Manchester United's capabilities and qualities. We'll have to be on the top of our game to get a result there."
