John O'Shea has warned Manchester United's squad is in a better shape.
John O'Shea has warned Manchester United's squad is in a better shape as a consequence of Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to play a shadow squad in the embarrassing FA Cup draw with non-league Exeter City.
The Irishman is hoping to feature in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg at Chelsea on Wednesday and is also likely to play in the replay at St James Park next week.
"It was one of them situations where the manager was forced to rest a lot of players due to the injuries we had," he told Sky Sports News.
"The team he put out was more than capable of winning the game it's just that the conditions on the day weren't the best and Exeter played very well.
"We're still in the cup but the players got the rest we needed.
"Some of the injured lads are back fully fit and I'm sure you'll see a different team down at Exeter."
O'Shea is backing Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney to strike up a partnership in attack.
"I think obviously Louis will be looking at maybe the main target man and you see in training, the power, the speed and his aerial threat," O'Shea continued.
"Looking at the awareness of Wayne, maybe dropping off in deeper positions."
