Giuseppe Rossi admits he is relishing the opportunity to impress at Old Trafford.Giuseppe Rossi admits he is relishing the opportunity to impress at Old Trafford having started in Manchester United's Carling Cup win over West Brom.
The diminutive Italian, born in the USA, is the current fledgling at the Premiership giants to have most enthused both Sir Alex Ferguson and his coaching staff.
Rossi is expected to be introduced to first team football in a gentle fashion, but he did manage a start against West Brom on Wednesday evening.
However, despite impressing, it is likely that Rossi will be reduced to the stands at the weekend as United resume their league campaign against managerless Portsmouth.
Whilst Rossi is content to learn his craft at the pace set by Ferguson he does concede that with a busy set of fixtures ahead, he is hoping for more chances.
"The more times I get to play with Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Louis Saha and some of the other experienced players, the more it will help my game overall,'' he told the Manchester Evening News.
"It was a great boost to my confidence to be able to play in such a strong team last night and hopefully I can keep learning and take it on the pitch when I next get a chance.
''We put on a great performance for the fans and I am sure they enjoyed everything - I will remember it for ever.''
