Sevilla have joined the list of clubs hoping to land Ajax starlet Nigel de Jong.Sevilla have joined the ever-increasing list of clubs hoping to land Ajax starlet Nigel de Jong.
The 21-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has refused to sign a new deal at the Amsterdam ArenA.
His situation has alerted a number of Europe's biggest clubs with the likes of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund keen to secure his services.
Sevilla also believe he would be a valuable acquisition and could well interest the youngster who has made it clear he wants to join a club where he will get regular first-team football.
The Primera outfit are keen to strengthen the centre of their midfield but have also been attracted by De Jong's versatility as he is equally at home performing on the right of midfield.
Jesus Navas currently operates in that position for Sevilla but Juande ramos is looking to bring in some top-quality competition for first-team places as he looks to improve his squad.
Dortmund still appear to be in pole for De Jong, but there is sure to be a scramble for his signature ahead of his departure from Ajax next summer.
