Silkmen land Lee

Macclesfield have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Tommy Lee on loan.

Macclesfield have snapped up young Manchester United goalkeeper Tommy Lee on loan.

The 20-year-old is likely to be in the squad for the game with Northampton on Saturday, and will stay at with the Moss Rose club for a month.

Alan Feats will remain first choice for The Silkmen, but cover is required for reserve keeper Tim Deasy, who has undergone a cartilage operation.

"I've seen Lee play for United's reserves a few times and we're grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for letting him come," said Macclesfield boss Brian Horton.

"It gives Deasy a month to recover."

Horton is also hoping to add a striker to his squad to help The Silkmen pull further clear of danger.
