France striker Louis Saha is hoping Wayne Rooney will not be 100 percent fit at the World Cup finals.
As England fans hold their breath awaiting the results of a crucial scan on the Merseysider's foot, Saha has joked that his motives are purely selfish ahead of the main event in Germany.
When asked if he had spoken to his Manchester United colleague, Saha replied: "No, not yet.
"I wish him good luck with his recovery but I hope he won't be 100 percent!"
The former Fulham forward feels France have the right blend of youth and experience to make a major impact in the tournament, despite the camp being rocked by back-up keeper Gregory Coupet storming out of training.
"I think it's going to be a very good World Cup for us," he opined on Sky Sports News. "I do think all the players are motivated.
"We have players with experience and young players who try to make their way so it's a good combination for success.
"So hopefully, it's going to be a happy summer."
