Makoun to move to Lyon

Skysports.com understands Man Utd target Jean Makoun has decided to join Lyon.

Skysports.com understands that Manchester United target Jean Makoun has decided to join French champions Lyon.

The Cameroon international is hot property in France after a fine season with Lille, and reportedly caught the eye of Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

However Makoun is now believed to have agreed a five-year deal with Gerard Houllier's champions, although Lille still need to give the transfer the green light.

The transfer fee could reach as much as ‚é¼15 million (£10.35 million) as Lille boss Claude Puel has been determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old, fearing he will suffer from a lack of first-team football at Stade Gerland.

However Makoun now appears set to become a Lyon player, irrespective of whether Mali midfielder and Real Madrid target Mahamadou Diarra departs Les Gones.
