Man Utd's Park Ji-sung will be out of action for three months with ankle ligament damage.
Manchester United's Park Ji-sung will be out of action for three months with ankle ligament damage.
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed the South Korean collected a knock in training on Sunday, although he hoped it would only be a minor injury.
Park went for scans on the knock and it has now been confirmed he suffered ligament damage in the training ground accident.
The 25-year-old will now definitely miss United's UEFA Champions League clash with Celtic and their highly-anticipated fixture against Arsenal on Sunday.
Park will now undergo an operation that is likely to keep the former PSV Eindhoven winger on the sidelines for at least three months.
The news is a blow for Ferguson after he failed to land Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves and Villarreal's Marcos Senna before transfer deadline day.
