Man United defender Mikael Silvestre will be out for six weeks with a broken foot.
Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre will be out for six weeks with a broken foot.
The France international has not played for United since limping out of the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal a fortnight ago.
He has now been scratched from The Red Devils' plans until November after it was confirmed he had broken a metatarsal in his foot.
Silvestre's injury comes just as Gabriel Heinze returned to the United side after missing the start of the season.
Heinze is likely to keep his place for Sunday's game against Newcastle United, while Silvestre's compatriot Patrice Evra is pushing for inclusion.
