Sir Alex Ferguson is thrilled by the prospect of having Park Ji-sung at his disposal over the busy festive period.
The South Korean has been sidelined since the beginning of September with an ankle complaint, but he made a playing return for the reserves last week and has been given the green light to press ahead.
United lead the pack by eight points ahead of the weekend trip to West Ham United and Ferguson is happy to be able to call on the versatile Park once again.
"Park is a great player to get back," said Ferguson. "His versatility and movement off the ball is something we shall use over the Christmas period.
"He also gives us the option of resting our wider players in various games because he can play on both sides of the pitch."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also close to fitness and with Henrik Larsson joining the club in January and Giuseppe Rossi set to return from his loan stint at Newcastle United, Ferguson admits he will be able to breathe a little easier.
"For six weeks or so, we have operated with my heart in my mouth, hoping nothing serious would befall Louis or Wayne," he said.
"It was a situation that worried me - as I know it did our supporters."
