Derby midfielder David Jones is unsure as to where his international ambitions lie.
Derby midfielder David Jones admits he is unsure as to where his international ambitions lie, but claims Ryan Giggs is keen for him to choose Wales.
Giggs is well aware of Jones' capabilities having played with the talented midfielder at Manchester United and having established himself as one of the Championship's best talents since moving to Derby, international recognition has been mooted.
Jones is eligible to play for both Wales and England and while Giggs is pestering for him to choose the former, the Derby man is eager to weigh up all his options before committing to either country.
The 22-year-old, who cost Derby £1million when they secured his services in the January transfer window, is keen to commit to the country to which he feels most loyalty and not let other factors influence his decision.
"Giggsy has already had a few words with me, just to hear my views on the situation," Jones told The Sun's Super Goals.
"It's nice to get a bit of interest from him about playing for Wales.
"He was telling me all about the set-up and the way Wales are moving forward.
"Fortunately, I can play for either Wales or England. But I haven't yet decided who I'll choose.
"I don't want to say England and then choose Wales if I don't make it.
"I want to decide on the team and then go for it. At the moment I am just concentrating on my club performances and not worrying about international level."
