Edwin van der Sar has revealed he is unlikely to be fit in time for Manchester United's meeting with Bolton on Saturday.The Dutch keeper damaged his calf during the warm up for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final with Middlesbrough and was replaced by Tomasz Kuszczak.
Van der Sar has had a scan which has highlighted only minor damage to his calf, but he is not prepared to gamble on his fitness with some big games on the horizon for The Red Devils.
"I didn't play in our FA Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough at the weekend, as I injured my calf during the warm-up," he told The Sun. "I suddenly felt that it wasn't good, so I decided not to play.
"It's always better to rest, even if it's just a small strain, so that it doesn't get any worse.
"I have had scans since then, which show a little damage in my calf.
"I don't think I will be back in time to face Bolton on Saturday - that would be pushing it.
"We will see but it certainly doesn't look that way."
